A quite good disco performed by Anna Sahlene. But it has not that little extra thing which makes a winner.

Magnus from Fame goes etno. This song is pretty much influenced by John Farnham's "You're the voice". A very powerful song which matches Magnus's powerful voice.

Review |
A typical Swedish schlager. Maybe the lyrics is too complicated and has too many words. And the chorus is too repetitive.

Naughty boy
Hannah Graaf
Music & lyrics | Joacim Dubbelman, Martin Landh, Sam McCarthy
Song | The composers described it as psychofunkadelicpop. Hanna Graaf compares it to luxury pop from the 60's. Emma Nilsdotter sang on the demo. This entry replaced "So good", written by Stephen Simmonds, which was disqualified since the composer who sang on the demo refused to perform it.

This soft pop bossa-nova is quite amusing. Very well produced. Hannah Graaf sings quite well, believe it or not. Could surprise...

Review |
Beatles meets Robbie Williams in this happy tune with a touch of Irish sound. Andreas Johnson has a great voice. And this song can have a life after the contest in the pop charts. Best in semi 1.

Lev livet
Magnus Carlsson

Anders Glenmark has participated eight times before; for example twice with the group Glenmark in 1974 and 1975, with his sister Karin in 1984 and the song "Kall som is". Last time he competed in Melodifestivalen was in 1989 and "Upp över mina öron" together with Orup, who wrote "Det gör ont"/"It hurts".
Performer | Magnus Carlsson was lead singer in Barbados in the contest three years in a row; 2000 (2nd with "Se mig"), 2001 (2nd with "Allt som jag ser") and 2002 (4th with "Världen utanför"). Together with Alcazar he came in third place twice; 2003 with "Not a sinner nor a saint" and 2005 with "Alcastar".
Review |
Magnus says it is the best song he has entered in Melodifestivalen. "It is not!" I thought when I heard it first. But then it grew a lot. Still, it sounds much Anders Glenmark.

Sonya has a good voice and the song is actually good. But I think it does not have that little extra thing to be a winner.

Idag och imorgon

She has represented Sweden two times in ESC; in 1982 with "Dag efter dag" and in 1985 with "Bra vibrationer". Her latest entry "Vem é dé du vill ha" with her friends Bettan and Lotta was a huge success. This will be her ninth song in the Swedish contest:
1978: Miss Decibel
1980: Mycket mycket mer
1981: God morgon
1982: Dag efter dag
1983: Varför är kärleken röd?
1985: Bra vibrationer
1992: En enda gång
2002: Vem är det du vill ha?
Review |
A little disappointment, I thought Kikki would have chosen a better song. Sounds like "Så nära" from 2005, which did not qualify. But Kikki is Kikki and has a lot of fans.

The first speculations said that Jonas Lengstrand, son of Gert Lengstrand, was going to perform the song.
Review |
Bobby and Pling's ballad used to be so good in the 90's. But this is nothing special.

A Mediterranean latino with oriental influences. Sound like both Ruslana and Helena Paparizou.

Review |
One of the best entries so far. Energic and powerful eurotechno with synth influences. Maybe the sound is dated, but the energy lifts it very high.

Review |
This might be an average pop song, but it's good. Maybe Jessica Folcker misses some charisma too attract the voters.

Review |
No, this etno "kind-of-a-song" is too weak. Where is the beats and where is the rhythm?

Patrik Isaksson always makes strong ballads. This has some good parts, but the chorus is too anonymous.

Performer | Kayo was one of the girls in Afro-dite. In 2002 they won the contest with "Never let it go". The year after they came 7th with "Aqua playa". This year she will go solo.
Review |
What a pity this ended up in the bottom! Kayo is not a big singer, but the song was quite good. Reminded me about "Om natten" from 2005, and it did not qualify neither.

Jag tar det jag vill ha
Sandra Dahlberg
Music & lyrics | Johan Fransson, Tobias Lundgren, Niklas Edberger, Tim Larsson, Sandra Dahlberg
Song | Up-tempo song with ethnic influences. Very cocky and humorous.
Composers | The first four composers are the Hurricane-team behind "Just like a boomerang", "Innan mörkret faller", "Runaway" and "Olé olé". In 2005 they had five entries; "Alcastar", "Om natten", "Alla flickor", "Vi kan gunga" and the winner "Las Vegas".
Performer | "Jag tar det jag vill ha" is the second entry Sandra Dahlberg has written in Melodifestivalen. In 2004 she sang "Här stannar jag kvar" and came in 8th place.
Review |
Sandra has copied Nanne's "Håll om mig" and hopes for the same success. The beats are heavy and the voice much more powerful than in 2004. But it's not a winner.

Performer | Evan, alias Pontus Hagberg, released his first single, "Everything I'd ever do", in 2003 and the album "The other side" came the year after.

This one is a bit funny. These country beats have never been heard in Melodifestivalen before. Annika has an original voice which makes the songs even better.

Evighet
Carola Häggkvist
Music | Bobby Ljunggren, Thomas G:son, Henrik Wikström
Lyrics | Thomas G:son, Carola Häggkvist
Song | A pop song with ABBA-feeling. Sonja Aldén sang on the demo. The song had English lyrics and was called "Invincible" when it was selected.
Composers | Bobby Ljunggren's list of qualifications from Melodifestivalen is impressive. His first entry was "När morgonstjärnan brinner" in 1987. He has two victories; "Se på mig" and "Kärleken är". He has also written popular entries like "Om igen", "Du", "Ett liv med dig", "Anropar försvunnen", "Not a sinner nor a saint", "Unbreakable", "Bye bye", My no 1". Together with Henrik Wikström he wrote "Efharisto", "Min kärlek" and "Att älska dig". Henrik performed in Melodifestivalen 2000 with the group Avengers and "När filmen tar slut".
Thomas G:son made his debut in the contest in 1999. He wrote the Swedish winner in 2001; "Listen to your heartbeat". He is also the man behind "Världen utanför", "What difference does it make", "Vem é dé du vill ha", "Tango! Tango", "C'est la vie", "As if tomorrow will never come" and "Så nära".
Performer | Carola Häggkvist had her huge break-through after the victory in Melodifestivalen 1983 with "Främling" scoring maximum points from the juries. In ESC in Munich she came 3rd. She had some years with bible studies before she made come back in the contest 1990. But "Mitt i ett äventyr" ended 2nd after Edin-Ådahl. Her revenge came the following year. With almost maximum points this time also, "Fångad av en stormvind" brought her to Rome and her second participation in ESC. After a tough battle with Amina, representing France, Carola could give Sweden its third victory. Ever since, many Swedes have hoped to see her back in the contest. In 2003, "När löven faller", with lyrics by Carola, was picked by SVT to compete, but was later disqualified when Carola refused to perform it herself. She has appeard two times as a host of the event, in 2000 and 2003.
The first news claimed Sonja Aldén to perform this entry.
Review |
Carola has one of the best voices in Sweden - maybe in the whole world. The song is a mix between "Hela världen för mig" (written by Thomas G:son in 2003) and "Att älska dig" (written by Bobby Ljunggren and Henrik Wikström in 2005). Now they have written this classic pop schlager together.
